Let’s salute one of the great figures in children’s books – Virginia Lee Burton, born on this date in 1909. Burton wrote and illustrated “Mike Mulligan and His Steam Shovel,” “Katy and the Big Snow,” Caldecott winner “The Little House,” and others.
